Following My Path–Striving for Justice and Social Change
This book details the life of my sister-in-law, who was an activist, campaigning for positive political and social change. She was diagnosed with ALS at the young age of thirty-eight. The book takes readers through Esther’s life journey during her thirties, forties, and fifties when she kept personal and introspective journals.
She died in 2005, after living with ALS for twenty years. Her goal was to provide others with ALS, or other devastating diseases an opportunity to learn how they can continue their lives finding joy and peace. She started writing her memoir when she was younger, but when Esther became too weak to write or even record her thoughts, she asked me to use her journals to finish her memoir. I was happy to do so.
